Summer

Beach days at Agnes Water Beach

Agnes Water Beach is one of the most beautiful open stretches of beach on the east coast of Australia. It’s protected from southerly winds by a rocky point, making it a popular surfing beach. During summer, the warm waters are perfect for swimming, bodyboarding, or simply relaxing on the golden sands, watching the surfers make the most of the waves.

Take a scenic cruise to Lady Musgrave Island

For a special day out, hop on a scenic cruise to Lady Musgrave Island. Explore the Great Barrier Reef up close by snorkelling or viewing coral and marine life through glass-bottom boats. It's a wonderful way to experience the reef without needing to get too adventurous.

Watch the sunset at Town of 1770

Summer evenings are made for sunsets in Town of 1770, where you can take in spectacular colours over Bustard Bay. Bring along a picnic and enjoy the views, or settle in at a local café or bar for a relaxed evening watching the sun go down.

Fishing on the Discovery Coast

The area is also a paradise for fishing enthusiasts, with options across beach, rock, creek, and offshore locations. Try beach fishing for Dart, Bream, and Whiting, or head to popular rock spots like Agnes Point for Sweetlip, Trevally, and Mackerel.
